
CLEMMEY BRINGS SWING AND MISS STUFF
2022 18U National Team alum Alex Clemmey got the start for the Washington Nationals against the New York Mets on Sunday. Clemmey was electric in his three innings of work, mixing an upper 90's fastball with a sharp slider to strike out six. The southpaw scattered three hits and a run in three innings.
2021 18U TEAM BRINGS THE BOOM
Former 18U National Team teammates Ryan Clifford and Elijah Green brought the power to their Spring Breakout showcase, each hitting towering home runs. Clifford’s blast came in a lefty-lefty matchup on Sunday, traveling 449 feet to straightaway center field. Green also cranked a two-run homer as part of a two-hit day that included a double.
HUGHES AND SMITH FACE OFF
In a battle of Collegiate National Team alums, Gabriel Hughes (2021) toed the rubber against Hagen Smith (2023). Both pitchers posted two hitless innings, with Hughes striking out two batters and Smith scattering a pair of walks along with a punch out. To close out the big CNT pitching day, Zach Agnos (2022) registered the save for the Rockies with a perfect ninth inning.
RAYS PROSPECTS SHINE
Four USA Baseball alumni cracked the Tampa Bay Rays’ starting lineup against the Red Sox and combined for seven hits, each picking up at least one knock. 12U National Team alum Cooper Kinney went 3-for-4 as the designated hitter, while Carson Williams collected two hits–including a solo homer in the eighth. His Premier12 teammate, Chandler Simpson, notched a hit, RBI, run scored, and stolen base, while former CNT standout Brayden Taylor went 1-for-4 with a walk and RBI.
WOLKOW WOLLOPS ONE
2021 15U National Team alum George Wolkow had the hardest-hit ball of Spring Breakout. Wolkow–who stands at 6-foot-7–smoked a two-out single that left the bat at 114.8 miles per hour.
