Athlete Development Program Identification Events

USA Baseball will invite 50 of the top 13-and-under and 14-and-under athletes to North Carolina, for a highly developed four-day on- and off-field national team-level instruction and education program. Invitations will come from the 12U and 13U National Team Identification Series (NTIS) and the Arizona and North Carolina National Team Championships.

The Athlete Development Program (ADP) will feature advanced on-field skills development with positional and team fundamental drills, and ongoing evaluation by USA Baseball national team coaches. Over the course of the program, athletes will be placed on a Stars or Stripes team and face-off in intrasquad games to practically implement the instruction provided during training.

USA Baseball will also provide an off-field component for the athletes that will focus on education regarding the NCAA and the recruiting process, umpire interaction, nutrition and wellness guidance, strength and conditioning education, media training, and character and leadership development.

The 2025 13U/14U Athlete Development Program will be held July 31-August 3 at the National Training Complex in Cary, N.C.


ELIGIBILITY

Athletes born Jan. 1, 2012 or later are eligible for the 2025 13U/14U Athlete Development Program.


SELECTION PROCESS

USA Baseball uses three different identification events to select players for to the Athlete Development Program. Athletes are identified from the National Team Identification Series (NTIS) and National Team Championships in Arizona and North Carolina, as well as through recommendations from scouts and coaches in the amateur baseball community.

NATIONAL TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS

The USA Baseball National Team Championships is an identification event for the 13U/14U Athlete Development Program. The National Team Championships are elite championship-style events held in Arizona and North Carolina for more than 300 teams to showcase their talents against top programs and players from across the nation while being scouted for national team and development programs at USA Baseball by its task force. Age groups at the National Team Championships include 13U (NC only), 14U, 15U, 16U and 17U.

USA Baseball will invite a select number of athletes to the Athlete Development Program from the 14U National Team Championships.


NATIONAL TEAM IDENTIFICATION SERIES

*Athletes who participate in the NTIS are trying out for national teams and development programs for the following calendar year

The USA Baseball National Team Identification Series (NTIS) is the most comprehensive player identification program offered by USA Baseball. Players from across the country will begin the identification process by participating in camps and tryouts at the local level in one of six regions across the country. After camps and tryouts have been completed, each region will name 16 athletes from each of the 11U, 12U and 13U age groups, and 18 athletes from each of the 14U, 15U and 16U age groups, to an All-Region team that will participate in the NTIS Champions Cup at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, N.C.

The NTIS Champions Cup features six teams per age group and athletes will participate in workouts and a championship-style tournament while being evaluated by the USA Baseball Task Force comprised of national team coaches and scouts.

Following the Champions Cup, USA Baseball will invite 12 athletes from the 12U and 13U NTIS Champions Cup event to the following year's 13U/14U Athlete Development Program.


OTHER

Additional secondary events may be held throughout the year by USA Baseball that may also be used to identify players for current or future 13U/14U Athlete Development Program. These events may include any additional events held at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, North Carolina.
