5 Star MVP Defeats Elite Squad, Move on to 11U Futures Championship

Cary, N.C. - Following a dominant performance, 5 Star MVP moves on to the 2018 11U Futures championship game after they defeated Elite Squad by a score of 13-0 on Saturday at Thomas Brooks Park in Cary, North Carolina. 
Starting pitcher Seth Hernandez threw three scoreless frames, allowing just one hit while striking out three and walking none. The relief crew behind him, consisting of Gavin Fien, Adam Haight, and Dylan Green needed just 17 pitches to finish things out. They did not allow a batter to reach base. 
On the offensive side of the ball, Kibru Pam had an incredible showing with six RBI on two hits and a walk. Friday night's home run derby champion Dean Moss also had a successful day at the plate as he reached base in all three at-bats. He would come around to score all three times. In total, 5 Star MVP recorded seven hits, eight walks, and struck out only one time. They scored 13 runs.
5 Star MVP will play the winner of Saturday's second semifinal game between Top Tier Americans and San Diego Show. The championship game will be played at 11 a.m. E.T. and will be played on field six at Thomas Brooks Park in Cary, North Carolina.
