Stroman started with Team USA as a member of the 2011 Collegiate National Team. That summer, he recorded a 0.00 ERA in seven appearances, giving up zero hits, zero earned runs and one walk while striking out 17. Later, he was a member of the 2017 World Baseball Classic team that won gold. The team secured its first-ever World Baseball Classic title behind his dominant performance in the championship game where he took a no-hitter into the seventh inning against then-defending champion Puerto Rico. He was also named MVP of the event.

The selection made Stroman the first-ever Duke player to be selected in the first round of the MLB Draft. He still holds the Blue Devil record for career strikeouts (290 in 222 innings pitched.

Stroman wears No. 6 on his jersey to honor his grandmother, whose birthday falls on March 6.

He owns his own clothing line called HDMH Apparel, which stands for "Height Doesn't Measure Heart." The mantra has inspired the 5'9" pitcher since early on in his career. But that's not all, Stroman is not only the owner and founder of HDMH Apparel, but he also designs a lot of the clothing line's gear - including the uniform for his brother's baseball team.

Dog dad, that is. On February 11, 2019, Stroman brought home the newest addition to his family: an adorable Boxer puppy named Shugo.

Stroman's younger brother, Jayden, has also shown off his baseball chops in recent years, including participating in the 2018 USA Baseball National Team Identification Series. Jayden was one of 12 participants invited to the 2019 12U National Team Trials and Stroman is one proud big brother.
