Champs Arizona 15U Pool Play Day Two Group Two

Pool play from the 15U National Team Championships in Arizona has finished. With three games under every team’s belt, 32 squads will move onto bracket play, which will start on Saturday and conclude in one team earning gold on Monday.

Surprise, Arizona

NorCal Baseball U and 5 Star Arizona got the afternoon’s slate of doubleheaders started with a pair of dominant victories at the Texas Rangers’ spring training facility. NorCal downed TPA-Outlaws 15-4 after scoring in each of its five innings in Surprise, Arizona. 5 Star Arizona beat OC Premier after just letting in one run for a final line of 13-1. On the adjacent fields, Next Level Baseball beat the CBA Bulldogs 10-3 and CBA Victus San Diego claimed a close 5-2 victory against GBG Navy.

15U play at the Kansas City Royals’ spring training facility included three close bouts, one of which ended in a 7-7 draw between Canes West CA and Trosky Force. AZBC 2027 romped ZT Renegades 10-1 and Matadors beat The Rock Baseball Club 7-5 after taking a 4-0 first-inning lead and never looking back. To finish off action in Surprise from the early afternoon, California Bucs used a big, 10-run fifth frame to race past Rebels in a 12-7 win.

While it won earlier in the afternoon, NorCal fell in a close 5-4 bout in the late afternoon’s slate of baseball in Surprise against Next Level Baseball. After punches and counterpunches were thrown by each team, Next Level Baseball walked off its opponents in the bottom of the seventh. CBA Bulldogs had a loud second game of the day, downing the TPA-Outlaws 16-9 in a high-scoring affair on the Rangers’ quad. Meanwhile, CBA Victus San Diego couldn’t do enough to overcome 5 Star Arizona’s nine-run lead after three frames, ultimately falling 12-11 and BGB Navy rocked OC Premier by a score of 15-4.

To finish the action in Surprise, AZBC, The Rock Baseball Club, and Matadors all won big against their respective opponents. AZBC took it to Trosky Force in a 13-3 win, The Rock Baseball club beat Rebels 11-3, and Matadors defeated California Bucs in a high-scoring 13-6 game on the Royals’ quad. However, ZT Renegades and Canes CA did go blow-for-blow on the next field over, with the Renegades pulling out a tight 8-6 win.

Peoria, Arizona

The early afternoon at the Seattle Mariners’ spring training facility saw CBA Utah throttle Juggernaut Baseball in a 17-4 victory. Alongside CBA, TB SoCal won 13-3 over SSC 2027 and GBG San Diego shut out Trosky Arizona 2027 Regional 10-0 for a trifecta of dominant victories. Alpha Force and MASH National made things interesting, however — Alpha outlasted MASH in a back-and-forth shootout for a 9-7 pool play win.

GBG Inland Empire started things off with a bang in the afternoon at the San Diego Padres’ facilities. GBG plated 17 in a dominant four-inning victory against AZ Runners Baseball with a final score of 17-7. Alpha Power also put several runs between itself and its opponents with a 9-1 victory Storm Elite. The other two games on the quad were close battles, including a 9-9 tie between the Scottsdale Dirtbags and So Cal Birds White. Canes West AZ beat CCB Prime in a defensive battle, plating a clutch, go-ahead run in the top of the seventh to earn a 3-2 win.

CBA Utah picked up a big win in a 13-3 rout over MASH National in the late round of games at Peoria. Alpha Force rode its way to a similar 12-4 victory against Juggernaut Baseball while TB SoCal won 8-1 in its game against Trosky Arizona 2027 Regional. However, GBG San Diego and SSC were wrapped up in a shootout, one that SSC eked out after scoring in every frame but one for a six-inning 11-10 win.

To finish off pool play at the 15U level, So Cal Birds White and Storm Elite put on double-digit routs over their respective opponents. So Cal beat Canes Arizona while Storm Elite beat GBG Inland Empire in a 14-6 result on the Padres’ quad. Meanwhile, CCB Prime pulled off a 10-0 shutout victory over the Scottsdale Dirtbags and Alpha Power held on against AZ Runners Baseball for a 5-4 win.
