CARY N.C. - In a rain-cladden doubleheader at the 15U National Team Training Camp in Cary, North Carolina, Team Stars avenged its one-run loss from the day before with a 6-4 win and the Stars and Stripes tied 3-3 in the second five-inning bout of the day.
Weather shortened the second doubleheader of the day to a six-inning bout that ended in a walk-off, 4-3 win for Team Stars as the team took the series lead at the 15U National Team Training Camp.
GAME ONE
How it Happened
- Team Stripes started its day with a big first inning, overcoming a slim 1-0 Stars lead that was created via an Easton Brunson sacrifice fly.
- Stripes pulled ahead to a 4-1 lead in the bottom of the first, with two runs scoring courtesy of an Anthony Frausto line drive triple.
- The Stars battled back in the top of the third with Brunson’s second hit of the game and an RBI single from Stars standout Cooper Collins.
- Team Stars pulled ahead after plating another pair of runs in the fourth frame, highlighted by an RBI single from Eli Jones.
- After cranking a home run yesterday, Collins ripped another long ball on a solo shot to left field to extend his team’s lead to 6-4, a lead it held until the team claimed its first win of 15U Training Camp.
- The second leg of the morning’s doubleheader was a low-scoring affair that ended in a 3-3 draw.

How it Happened
- Team Stars doubled down on its win from earlier in the day with a come-from-behind victory, overcoming a 3-0 first-inning deficit forged by three straight hits from the Stripes, two of which were for extra bases.
- Stripes pitcher Andrew Brech held the Stars scoreless for the first two frames, only giving up two hits in that time.
- The Stars finally got on the board in the fourth frame as Collins shot yet another home run over the fence on Field Four and eventually cut the deficit to 3-2.
- A game-tying single from Parker Leoff knotted the contest at 3-3 in the bottom of the fifth.
- As the game entered the sixth and final frame, the Stars loaded the bases and completed the walk-off win after scoring via a balk.
