LSU’s Kade Anderson Named Golden Spikes Player of the Week

CARY, N.C. – LSU’s Kade Anderson tossed a complete-game shutout last week to be named USA Baseball’s Golden Spikes Award Week 8 Player of the Week presented by Chinook Seedery and DI Baseball.

Anderson helped the fifth-ranked Tigers earn a 2-0 win to open its series at No. 9 Oklahoma on April 3, which ultimately led to a series sweep over the Sooners. He used 135 pitches (91 strikes) to scatter five hits, yield two walks, and fan a career-best 14 batters. It was the first complete-game shutout by an LSU pitcher since April 4, 2018, and first complete game by an LSU pitcher since June 2, 2023.

He was named Co-SEC Pitcher of the Week on April 7 by the league office for his outstanding performance on the bump. Anderson leads the SEC this season in wins (6) and innings pitched (47.1), and he is No. 2 in the league in strikeouts (75). Nationally, he ranks fourth in strikeouts and wins and seventh in innings pitched.
