CARY, N.C. – September 27 marks the 24th anniversary of Team USA winning gold at the Sydney 2000 Summer Olympics, a moment that forever shaped not just the game of baseball in the United States, but also USA Baseball as an organization. USA Baseball celebrates this historic day by launching Our Pastime’s Future Fund through the USA Baseball Foundation as a part of its mission to provide opportunities for future generations to play the game. The goal of Our Pastime’s Future Fund is to enhance the annual support of USA Baseball through financial contributions.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that receives no government funding, these financial contributions will allow USA Baseball, the national governing body for baseball, to continue to invest in the development of current and future athletes, coaches, and umpires across the nation.

“This is an exciting day for USA Baseball,” said USA Baseball Executive Director/CEO Paul Seiler. “Our organization has made great strides in the amateur baseball landscape on and off the field, and the financial support of Our Pastime’s Future Fund will help us take those important next steps needed as we prepare for the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. We look forward to continuing to elevate our great game to new heights while growing the game of baseball through financial support all year round.”

Within the annual giving program are seven tiers of support that range from $100 to $10,000 with exclusive gifts and experiences tailored to each tier. These contributions will provide essential funding for the development and advancement of USA Baseball. A gift to Our Pastime’s Future Fund directly supports youth development programs, athlete safety and education initiatives, baseball in communities, and USA Baseball’s national teams.

The organization has achieved numerous milestones as a result of its dedication to growing of the game at all levels:

  • Fun At Bat has now eclipsed 5.5 million-plus participants and has been implemented in more than 6,500 schools in the United States.
  • More than 30,000 amateur athletes are impacted through Coaching Clinics annually.
  • Six USA Baseball alumni have hosted Homegrown Clinics in their hometowns.
  • USA Baseball directly impacts more than 10,000 coaches, trainers, and athletes a year by providing athlete safety resources.
  • More than 310,000 adults have completed USA Baseball’s Abuse Awareness for Adults course.

Founded in 1985, the USA Baseball Foundation is the philanthropic arm of USA Baseball and is dedicated to the development of baseball across the United States by supporting and contributing to initiatives and programs that serve the long-term growth of the game.

The USA Baseball Foundation’s core values are to Break Barriers, Amplify the Game, and Ignite a Passion. Break Barriers is a cornerstone initiative of the USA Baseball Foundation, dedicated to making baseball accessible and inclusive, with a primary focus on empowering women to play the game. Amplify the Game is a transformative initiative aimed at growing baseball throughout the United States by introducing baseball in traditional and non-traditional ways to new areas. Ignite a Passion is the heart of the USA Baseball Foundation’s mission, which is dedicated to growing a lifelong love for baseball in children across the country through the efforts of the other two cornerstone initiatives. No matter the amount given, the contributions made to Our Pastime’s Future Fund can financially support the present and future generations of baseball in the United States.
