CARY, N.C. - Chino Hills Thunder scored eight runs in the bottom of the fourth to open the 2019 10U Futures Invitational with a 13-3 win over the Dream Chasers at Thomas Brooks Park on Friday.
Dylan Wood earned the win on the mound for Chino Hills Thunder after allowing just one run on two hits in 2.2 innings on the mound. The Dream Chasers' starting pitcher Jael Santos suffered the loss after allowing two runs in 1.2 innings on the mound and striking out two.
Landon Scott led the Chino Hills Thunder at the plate, going two-for-three with three runs scored and an RBI. Chino Hills Thunder stole 11 bases in the contest, led by Sims and Christian Santoyo, who recorded three apiece. Eight different Chino Hills Thunder batters drove in a run in the game, while nine scored a run. Jael Santos recorded two hits and a pair of runs at the plate to lead the Dream Chasers.

<li 14px="" font-size:="" style="">Douglas Crockwell tied the game at one in the bottom of the second after a perfectly placed bunt fell between the Dream Chaser's first and second basemen, bringing home Landon Scott.
<li 14px="" font-size:="" style="">The Chino Hills Thunder took the lead two batters later as Crockwell came around to score on a throwing error from the Dream Chasers' catcher while he was attempting to steal second.
<li 14px="" font-size:="" style="">The Chino Hills Thunder added a pair of runs in the home half of the third as Brock Hickey crossed home thanks to a balk before Christian Santoyo singled to right field to bring home Landon Scott.
<li 14px="" font-size:="" style="">Julian Martinez drove in the Dream Chasers' final runs of the game with a two-RBI single to shallow center in the top of the fourth inning.
<li 14px="" font-size:="" style="">Chino Hills Thunder's offense responded in the bottom half of the fourth by plating eight runs after drawing six walks and hitting three RBI-singles.
<li 14px="" font-size:="" style="">The game was called in the bottom of the fourth due to the run-rule after Logan Schmidt scored on a Dream Chasers error to put Chino Hills Thunder ahead 13-3.
