CARY, N.C. - USA Baseball today announced the 50-man 2022 Collegiate National Team Training Camp roster that will compete in a five-game instrasquad series in North Carolina from June 30–July 4. The roster is made up of the best non-draft eligible college baseball players in the country.

Players will arrive in Cary for Training Camp on June 28, and then compete in a five-game Stars vs. Stripes intrasquad series in North Carolina before the staff will name a final 26-man national team roster on July 5. Led by Manager Mike Bianco (Ole Miss), who led Ole Miss to its first College World Series title this season, Team USA will then travel to Haarlem, Netherlands, to compete in Honkbalweek Haarlem.

“We are thrilled to have such a strong group coming into training camp this summer with a chance to represent the United States on the 2022 Collegiate National Team as we return to competing internationally this summer,” said Eric Campbell, USA Baseball Collegiate National Team General Manager. “This year’s training camp roster consists of some of the best collegiate baseball talent in the country, and the opportunity for these players to represent our country on the global stage will be a rewarding and unique experience for them.”

The Training Camp roster is highlighted by six USA Baseball alumni, including 2021 Collegiate National Team members Dylan Crews (LSU) Jacob Gonzalez (Ole Miss), Paul Skenes, and Kyle Teel (Virginia).

Yohandy Morales (Miami) has suited up for the red, white, and blue twice, as he was a member of the 2013 12U National Team that won the program’s first-ever gold medal at the International Baseball Federation “A” World Cup. Additionally, he was on the 2018 18U National Team that won the program’s eighth consecutive gold medal in international competition at the COPABE U-18 Pan American Championships.

Crews also played for the 2017 15U National Team and helped the U.S. win a gold medal at the COPABE Pan American Championships, while Jason Savacool (Maryland) was a part of the 2019 18U National Team that took silver at the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) U-18 Baseball World Cup and Skenes played a part in the 2014 12U National Team finishing runner-up at the 12U COPABE Pan American Championships.

Five of the athletes on the 2022 roster also participated in the USA Baseball National Team Development Program (NTDP), including three-time participant Crews who was a member of the 2016 14U NTDP, 2018 16U NTDP, and 2018 17U NTDP. Enrique Bradfield, Jr. (Vanderbilt) joined Crews and Morales on the 2018 17U NTDP, while Ross Dunn and Gonzalez were on the 2018 16U NTDP and 2016 14U NTDP, respectively, with Crews.

Thirty-one different schools are represented on the 2022 Collegiate National Team roster, with 13 boasting multiple athletes. Ole Miss, TCU and Wake Forest lead the way with three players each, while Arkansas, Louisville, LSU, Southern Miss, Stanford, UCLA, Virginia, and Virginia Tech all claim two.

The first game of the Stars vs. Stripes series is set to take place at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, North Carolina, on June 30 at 7 p.m. ET before the teams travel to compete in games two, three, and four of the series at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park (DBAP) in Durham, North Carolina. The first pitch of games two and four are set for 6:35 p.m. ET on July 1 and 3, respectively, and game three is scheduled for a 5:05 p.m. ET first pitch. Team USA will conclude its domestic tour on July 4 at Truist Field, the home of the Charlotte Knights, in Charlotte, North Carolina, with the first pitch at 6:05 p.m. ET.

Team USA will announce its final 26-man Collegiate National Team roster on July 5. Then, to round out its 2022 campaign, the Collegiate National Team will compete at the Honkbalweek Haarlem tournament. The U.S. will begin the event against Japan on July 9 at 8 a.m. ET (1 p.m. local time) before taking on Italy, Cuba, the Netherlands, and Curacao to close out group stage play. The second round of competition will then be played on July 14 ahead of the championship on July 15.

Bianco, who just finished his 24th season at Ole Miss, will lead the Collegiate National Team after capping off an historic season at the helm of the Rebels with the program’s first-ever College World Series title. He will be joined on staff by Xan Barksdale, Drew Bianco (LSU), Scott Brown (Vanderbilt), Cliff Godwin (ECU), and Josh Holliday (Oklahoma State).

Team USA will also be joined by a host of coaches and staff members to assist during Training Camp: Spencer Allen (Milwaukee Brewers), Brady Austin (ECU), 2021 Collegiate National Team Manager Elliott Avent (NC State), Josh Fisher (NC State), Kerry Kincaid, 2019 Collegiate Manager Dan McDonnell (Louisville), Josh Pike (NC State**)_, and _Elton Pollock (Presbyterian).
