USA Baseball Announces Field for 12th Annual National High School Invitational

2025 edition to be hosted from April 9-12 at National Training Complex in Cary, North Carolina

CARY, N.C. – USA Baseball today announced the field for the 2025 National High School Invitational (NHSI) presented by the Greater Raleigh Sports Alliance and Netting Professionals. The 12th annual NHSI will be held from April 9-12 at the National Training Complex in Cary, North Carolina.

The 16-team field features the past two NHSI champions. Corona High School (Corona, Calif.) ran the table in its tournament debut last April, pitching shutouts in three of its four games to take home the NHSI trophy. Huntington Beach High School (Huntington Beach, Calif.) will compete in its eighth NHSI; it won the tournament championship in 2023, its second title after also winning it all in 2016.

“We are extremely excited to kick off our 2025 schedule with the National High School Invitational,” said Paul Seiler, USA Baseball’s Executive Director and CEO. “Each year, we are proud to host the nation’s most talented players and programs as they battle to take home the prestigious NHSI trophy. This tournament signals the beginning of another great year of baseball, and we are looking forward to getting things going in April.”

“The GRSA is proud to be a host partner of the 2025 National High School Invitational for the twelfth year,” said Greater Raleigh Sports Alliance Director Tori Collins. “We value our relationship with USA Baseball and are proud of the many outstanding events that it brings to the National Training Complex in Cary each year. In addition to the tremendous economic impact that this event has on our community, the NHSI also further strengthens Cary’s brand as one of America’s top destinations for amateur sports and as an outstanding host to our nation’s top athletes.”

“Netting Professionals is proud to be a host partner of the 2025 National High School Invitational,” said Netting Professionals CEO Will Minor. “As we continue to grow our Netting Professionals brand, we are introducing our custom netting, wall padding, and batting practice equipment solutions to every level of baseball throughout the United States. This partnership with USA Baseball is a top priority. Our mission is to ‘Improve programs one facility at a time,’ so this partnership provides us with a powerful platform as we continue to introduce our products and services to top high school programs across the country.”

Four 2024 state champions are amongst the 16-team field, including Corona. The Panthers went 30-3 a year ago en route to a California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Southern Section state title. Casteel High School (Queen Creek, Ariz.) returns to the NHSI after winning its second consecutive Arizona Interscholastic Association (AIA) state championship, Granada High School (Livermore, Calif.), took home a CIF NorCal championship, and The Stony Brook School (Stony Brook, N.Y.) makes its first trip to Cary fresh off a New York State Association of Independent Schools (NYSAIS) state trophy in 2024.

In addition to Casteel, Corona, and Huntington Beach, seven other schools are making return appearances to the NHSI, including 2024 returnees Trinity Christian Academy (Lake Worth, Fla.) and Wesleyan Christian Academy (High Point, N.C.). Trinity Christian will play in its fourth NHSI after reaching the quarterfinal round in each of the first three, while Wesleyan Christian makes the field for the second time.

Corona del Sol High School (Tempe, Ariz.), La Mirada High School (La Mirada, Calif.), Poly Prep Country Day School (Brooklyn, N.Y.), Regis Jesuit High School (Aurora, Colo.), and Venice High School (Venice, Fla.) round out the returners in the 2025 field. Venice and Regis Jesuit will both make their third trips to Cary, while Corona del Sol, La Mirada, and Poly Prep appear in the NHSI field for the second time.

Including The Stony Brook School, six total programs will make their tournament debuts in 2025. Christopher Columbus High School (Miami, Fla.), Collierville High School (Collierville, Tenn.), Edwardsville High School (Edwardsville, Ill.), Granada High School (Livermore, Calif.), and Holly Springs High School (Holly Springs, N.C.), join The Stony Brook School as tournament debutants.

In total, eight different states will be represented in the 2025 tournament. California leads all states with four different teams, followed by Florida with three. Arizona, New York, and North Carolina boast two programs each, while Colorado, Illinois, and Tennessee all feature one representative.

The USA Baseball National Training Complex (NTC), in partnership with the Town of Cary, has been the official home of USA Baseball since 2007. The NTC has been the stage for the NHSI since its inception in 2012 and includes four baseball fields, including two which are maintained at Major League Baseball (MLB) standards and two fully synthetic fields. Many of MLB’s most-accomplished players have played at the complex in their careers, including four-time American League (AL) MVP Mike Trout and two-time National League (NL) MVP Bryce Harper. The Town of Cary received the National Gold Medal Grand Plaque Award for Excellence in Park and Recreation Management in 2016, which honors U.S. communities that demonstrate excellence in parks and recreation through long-range planning, resource management, volunteerism, environmental stewardship, program development, professional development, and agency recognition.

Since 2012, the NHSI has hosted some of the nation’s most talented players, many of whom have gone on to illustrious careers in professional baseball. Among some of the most notable players who have taken the field at the tournament are 2019 NL MVP Cody Bellinger and 2024 World Series champion Jack Flaherty, as well as two-time All-Star Austin Riley and MLB Pipeline No. 3 overall prospect Roman Anthony.
