CARY, N.C. – USA Baseball today finalized the 44-man 2021 15U National Team Trials roster with the selection of eight athletes from the 2021 13U/14U Athlete Development Program (ADP) following the event’s conclusion on Thursday. The 15U National Team Trials are set to take place from August 27-September 3 at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, North Carolina.

The final eight invitees participated in the 13U/14U ADP from August 2-5 in Cary. The program is a highly-developed, four-day event featuring off-field educational programs and seminars, as well as a three-game Stars vs. Stripes series and on-field workouts, where players received instruction and evaluation from an experienced staff of USA Baseball coaches.

“We are excited to finalize our 2021 trials roster and get one step closer to naming our 2021 15U National Team,” said Charles Lane, USA Baseball Director of Baseball Operations. “The talent level at the National Team Championships and the 13U/14U Athlete Development Program this year was exceptional, and we look forward to more strong competition as we welcome the 44-man roster to Cary later this month.”

Of the eight athletes invited from the 13U/14U ADP, three were members of the 2019 12U National Team that finished with a 6-2 record at the 2019 World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) U-12 Baseball World Cup in Tainan, Taiwan, including Dillon Adkins (Leonardtown, Md.), Gavin Fien (Temecula, Calif.), and Jack McKernan (Missouri City, Texas). 

Additionally, all eight invitees competed in the 2021 National Team Championships, with half of them playing in North Carolina and the other half competing in Arizona.

Riley Brown (Midvale, Utah), Brady Ebel (Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.), Dean Hannah (Waco, Texas), and Titan Targac (Flatonia, Texas) all participated in the National Team Championships Arizona, while Coy James (Advance, N.C.) was a participant at the National Team Championships North Carolina along with Adkins, Fien, and McKernan.

The final trials roster now features athletes from 17 different states. Texas leads the way with seven selections, followed closely by California and Florida with six each.

All 44 invited athletes will arrive in Cary, North Carolina, on August 27 for 15U Trials before participating in a five-game Stars vs. Stripes series from August 28-September 2. The final roster for the 15U National Team will be announced on September 2, following the conclusion of trials. However, USA Baseball will not participate in any U-15 international competitions in 2021.
