
Cary, N.C. -- Day three of the USA Baseball 11U Futures Invitational saw the Top Tier Americans and San Diego Show securing their spots in the gold medal game of the USA Baseball 11U Futures Invitational, Sunday, at 11:00 a.m. at Thomas Brooks Park. The Mid-Atlantic Royals and Wilson Sandlot will compete for the bronze medal at 8:00 a.m.
Game 25: NY Phenoms, Piranhas Baseball
Piranhas Baseball got two RBI from Logan Cheek, who went 2-for-3, and two RBI from Omar Martinez, who was 1-for-3, leading to a 11-3 victory over the NY Phenoms.
Brady Corcoran threw the first five innings for Piranhas tallying nine strikeouts, collecting the win for Piranhas Baseball.
The Phenoms got hits from six different players, most notably Denali Rivera who was 1-for-3 with one RBI leading the Phenoms.
Game 26: Top Tier Americans 10, Mid-Atlantic Royals 0
Ralphy Velazquez was 2-for-2 with three RBI, leading the way offensively in Top Tier Americans' 10-0 semifinal victory over the Mid-Atlantic Royals, advancing to the gold medal game on Sunday, July 2. Nicholas Montgomery also had a strong 2-for-2 performance with one RBI.
Aaron Rojas threw a complete game shutout striking out six batters to pick up the win.
The Royals were led by Macon Winslow who went 1-for-2 out of the three spot in the order.
Game 27: LV Rebels 3, TBSA Patriots 2
The LV Rebels were down 2-0 until the fifth inning when they struck for three runs eventually winning 3-2 over the TBSA Patriots. In the fifth, RBI's from Cebastian Sedano (sac fly), Bryson Mariano (1-for-3), and Nathan Keyes (1-for-2) helped secure the victory. TBSA leadoff hitter reached base consistently going 3-for-4 and scoring a run. Both pitchers threw well in this one with TBSA's Kendall Hoffman throwing six innings, striking out striking out three and allowing three earned runs. The winning pitcher for LV Rebels was Kekoa Young who threw 5.1 innings with three strikeouts and only allowing one earned run.
Game 28: Midland Seminoles 13, Team California 1.
Anthony Sedam, Tyler Manocchio and Sawyer Strosnider all went 2-for-4 for the Midland Seminoles en route to its 13-1 victory over Team Florida.
Jett Music threw a complete game (5 innings) for the Seminoles, striking out two and allowing only one run.
Lucan Mendoza led Team California offensively, going 1-for-1 with an single.
Game 29: Team Florida 10, Midwest Select 0
Team Florida shutout Midwest Select in a six inning match-up on the Day 3 of the 11U Futures Invitational, led by Grayson Gibson's 3-for-3, 4 RBI day. Cameron Mallo was also a key contributor at the plate for Team Florida going 3-for-4 with 2 RBI.
Blake Larson and Aiden Brokaw posted the three hits for Midwest Select, going 2-for-3 and 1-for-1 respectively.
Gibson pitched a three-hit shutout for the victory.
Game 30: San Diego Show 10, Wilson Sandlot 7
San Diego Show advanced to the gold medal game of the 11U Futures Invitational tomorrow following its 10-7 win over Wilson Sandlot.
With the game tied at 4-apiece after the first, the San Diego Show took a three run lead in the bottom of the second on a Tyler Borrelli three-run homer, and its pitching only surrendered one more Sandlot run in the top of the third for the rest of the game.
Both teams posted high numbers at the plate as Errik Barnes Jr. and Easton Shelton went 3-for-4 for the San Diego Show. Sandlot's Kaden Coutts also went 3-for-4 with 3 RBI.
Game 31: Austin Crawdads 8, CBA 4
The Austin Crawdads got on the board quickly, plating four runs with two outs in the first inning, en route to a 8-4 victory over CBA.
The Crawdads took advantage of a couple wild pitches and errors in the field to take a quick lead. Sage Sanders went 2-for-4 with an RBI while Hank Benny went 1-for-2 with two RBI leading the offense for the Crawdads.
Stormy Rhodes got the win on the mound throwing 5.1 innings and striking out four.
Derek Bain led CBA with a two RBI double and finishing the day 1-for-3.
Game 32: 3D Gold 12, West Florida Hammerheads 2
Ty Wisdom led the way for 3D Gold both at the plate and on the mound, pitching five innings and going 2-for-3 at the plate with two doubles and four RBI, in a 12-2 victory over the West Florida Hammerheads.
Carson Tinney also had an impressive showing going 2-for-4 with three RBI.
3D Gold was also sharp in the field with no errors and making every routine play. For West Florida, Chris Newstrom had both RBI for the West Florida Hammerheads and a perfect 2-for-2 day at the plate.
