Team USA Alums Shine in 2024 Arizona Fall League

Twenty alums headline this year's rosters and six were selected to the Fall Stars Game

PHOENIX, Ariz. - The 2024 Arizona Fall League is coming to a close in the coming days, with the play-in semifinals taking place on Friday, November 15, and the championship game to commence the following day. This year's rosters were covered in red, white, and blue, as 20 USA alums were featured on one of the six AFL teams.

This past weekend the league held its annual Fall Stars Game, and six alums were selected to compete in the event: Jac Caglianone, Robert Hassell III, Cale Lansville, Tre' Morgan, Andrew Pintar, and Grant Taylor. Three other former Team USA players - Kemp Alderman, Colt Emerson, and Andrew Painter - were selected to participate in the Fall Stars Game but were unable to.

Take a look at how those six players fared in the Fall Stars Game, as well as how the rest of the alums have done so far through 27 games.

Jac Caglianone

Caglianone, MLB Pipeline’s No. 17 overall prospect in the Kansas City Royals' farm system, reached base safely three times during the Fall Stars Game while showing off his pop with a hard-hit double. A member of the 2023 Collegiate National Team who was selected to compete in this year’s AFL Home Run Derby, Caglianone has been lighting up Statcast with multiple 110+ mph shots. His 117.1 mph homer was good for the second-hardest hit of this year’s Fall League.

Robert Hassell III

A 2019 18U National Team alum, Hassell III has been catching eyes with his power this Fall League and showed it off during the Fall Stars Game with an RBI double in the third inning. The Washington Nationals prospect is slashing .296/.367/.556 through 20 games and is third in the AFL with 19 RBIs.

Cale Lansville

Lansville, who played for the 2018 15U National Team and is a prospect for the San Francisco Giants, opened the seventh inning of the Fall Stars Game and used only three pitches (two strikes) to get through his two-thirds of an inning. The righty has pitched 12.1 innings this Fall to the tune of a 2.92 ERA and 16 punch outs.

Tre’ Morgan

Morgan showed out during the Fall Stars Game, reaching base three times. Tampa Bay’s No. 10 prospect who was a part of the 2022 Collegiate National Team played all nine innings in left field and recorded a double, stole a base and scored a run. In just 18 games, Morgan is currently second in the Fall League in hits (27) and doubles (8).

Andrew Pintar

2013 12U National Team alum Pintar entered the Fall Stars Game in the sixth inning, taking over in center field. He went on to go 2-for-2 at the plate with a double. Pintar, who is in the Miami Marlins' farm system, has been having a solid Fall League at the plate, finding himself in the top five in runs (19) and hits (26).

Grant Taylor

Taylor came on in the second inning of the Fall Stars game and struck out a batter without giving up a run. The righty used a mix of his 94-97 mph fastball and a mid-80s slider to keep the offense quiet. Taylor, who played on the 2017 15U National Team and is currently with the Chicago White Sox's minor league system, has thrown 7.2 innings in the AFL this year and has 13 strikeouts.
