
CARY, N.C. – Fresno State’s Jack Anker struck out a career-high 16 batters last week to be named USA Baseball’s Golden Spikes Award Week 9 Player of the Week presented by Chinook Seedery and DI Baseball.
Anker tossed eight innings in the Bulldogs’ combined 7-0 shutout over the Aztecs on April 11. He scattered two hits and walked one batter in his dominant performance on the mound to earn his fifth win of the season. He currently ranks among the top 20 nationally in strikeouts (68) and innings pitched (50.2). Additionally, those numbers rank first and second, respectively, among all Mountain West Conference pitchers.
