15U Champs Arizona All-Tournament Team

With the 15U National Team Championships in Arizona now complete, it’s time to name the 2024 15U Champs Arizona All-Tournament team after Stacked National took home gold at this year’s competition.

Ten total players were named to the team, including six position players and four pitchers. In no particular order, let’s get into this year’s squad of talented players who made a splash at Champs Arizona.

Cory Wuttke, 5 Star Arizona, #37

5 Star Arizona’s Cory Wuttke helped lead his team to a bronze medal at this year’s 15U Champs Arizona. Throughout his eight games, Wuttke tallied a tournament second-best 13 hits and collected six RBIs.

Most impressively, six of Wuttke’s hits went for extra bases. He led the tournament in doubles with five and was one of the many players at Champs Arizona to hit a home run. To top it all off, Wuttke posted a batting average of .542 and on-base percentage of .621.

Eric Tani, Legacy Baseball Group, #8

While Wuttke’s squad walked off Eric Tani’s team in the bronze medal match in extra innings, Tani had just as good of a week out in the desert. Tani led Legacy Baseball Group to the championship day with a tournament-leading 12 RBIs and tournament-leading 14 hits.

Arguably the top hitter in this year’s competition, Tani struck for extra bases five times, tallying a triple and four two-baggers while earning himself a .538 batting average.

Andrew Felizzari, Next Level Baseball, #32

Next Level Baseball’s Andrew Felizzari took his game to the next level at Champs Arizona. One of the many players who played a tournament-maximum eight games, Felizzari ranked near the top in hits, RBIs, and extra base hits.

Half of Felizzari’s 12 hits went for extra bases, which was good for second-most in the tourney. While he ranked third in hits, Felizzari ranked second in RBIs, driving in 11 of his Next Level teammates over the course of the competition.

Garrett Gandolfo, Team California Warriors, #8

Garret Gandolfo from Team California Warriors only played in three games at Champs Arizona. That’s why his final statline at the 15U competition was so impressive.

Gandolfo finished his tournament with eight hits and seven RBIs in just 10 plate appearances. Even with such little time at the plate, Gandolfo ripped five extra base hits, good for the second-most of the competition. Three of those hits were triples, the most of the tournament, while two were doubles.

Chase Mattoon, TB SoCal, #20

Chase Mattoon led the 15U age group in extra base hits with seven, five of which were doubles and two of which were three-baggers. Mattoon’s TB SoCal played six games in the tournament, and its star racked up nine hits and four RBIs while posting an impressive batting average of .643 and an on-base percentage of .737.

Hawk Licari, Swarm Red Elite National, #50

Swarm Red Elite National’s Hawk Licari posted five extra base hits in his time with Swarm in Peoria and Surprise, Arizona. Licari’s three doubles and three triples helped his team to a successful tournament, but ten hits and ten RBIs was more than enough to earn him a spot on the All-Tournament team list. He also posted a batting average of .588 and on-base percentage of .667 in 21 plate appearances.

Mason Majewski, Long Beach Bears, Pitcher, #30

Mason Majewski pitched in three games and nine innings for the Long Beach Bears at Champs Arizona. One of the many pitchers who posted an ERA of 0.00, Majewski hurled 10 punchouts and allowed an opposing batting average of .243 throughout his nine frames of action in the desert.

Aiden Dahlk, Stacked National, Pitcher, #44

Stacked National won it all at the 15U National Team Championships in Arizona, thanks in large part to Aiden Dahlk and his efforts on the mound. Dahlk made six appearances over the course of the week, pitching ten innings while also posting an ERA of 0.00.

Dahlk allowed an opposing batting average of .118 and threw eight strikeouts over the course of the event. Dahlk also tossed a complete game in Stacked’s shutout semifinal victory, letting his defense behind him work as his team advanced to and eventually won the championship.

Jayden Armendariz, Team Cal Warriors, Pitcher, #47

Jayden Armendariz was one of the few pitchers at this year’s event that earned a win while on the mound. The arm made five appearances for Team Cal Warriors, pitching seven innings and posted a stunning opposing batting average of .042. Armendariz also tossed six punchouts and allowed no earned runs while on the bump for Team Cal Warriors.

Andrew Hancock, The Rock Baseball Club, Pitcher, #9

The Rock Baseball Club’s Andrew Hancock rounds out this year’s All-Tournament Team after leading all pitchers with a whopping 16 strikeouts — six more than the next closest arm.

The strikeout specialist pitched eight innings in five appearances, averaging two punchouts per frame. Hancock also toted a .267 opposing batting average as he consistently frustrated opposing lineups.
