Texas A&M’s Jace LaViolette has put together a monster sophomore campaign as he is batting .324 with 28 home runs and 72 RBI currently. LaViolette’s 28 homers are the second most in program history, and his career total of 49 puts him in a tie for third all-time.
Among the nation, the sophomore ranks fifth in homers, fourth in runs scored (72), sixth in total bases (160), 11th in slugging (.842) and 37th in walks (43). In the SEC, LaViolette sits inside the top five in 10 different statistical categories.
On the year, LaViolette has recorded 19 multi-hit, 18 multi-RBI and six multi-homer performances. The sophomore has also played a stellar center field for the Aggies, registering 131 putouts and no errors.
