A year after being used in a variety of roles and helping Stanford to a second consecutive College World Series appearance, senior Quinn Mathews has emerged as one of the top aces in the country. The left-hander has followed up a season in which he was the only pitcher in the nation to record nine wins and nine saves by compiling a 7-3 record with a 3.20 ERA and a Pac-12 best 121 strikeouts to rank third in the nation for punchouts.
