Senior slugger Sonny DiChiara has taken the SEC by storm in his first season in an Auburn uniform. For the majority of the season, the Hoover, Alabama, native has led the league and ranked in the top 10 in the country in batting average, on-base percentage and slugging percentage. A big player with as big of a personality -- exhibited by his infectious walk-up song ("C’e La Luna" by Louis Prima) -- DiChiara leads the Tigers in nearly every offensive category and is primed to finish the year in the top 10 in a number of single-season records. Feared by many opposing teams and pitchers, DiChiara ranks second in the country in walks. He has reached base in all but one game this season, starting the year with the second-longest on-base streak in the country (46), including multiple times in all but seven contests.
