Third baseman Jake Gelof anchors one of the most dangerous offenses in college baseball and is producing one of the best seasons at the plate ever seen in Charlottesville. His torrid start to the season helped him earn D1Baseball.com Midseason Player of the Year honors and a spot on the Golden Spikes Midseason Watch List. He became the first UVA player to hit for the cycle since 2002, needing just four at-bats and five innings played on Feb. 27 against Cornell. He put together four multi-home run efforts in his first 27 games. Through 51 games, he is on the verge of breaking the program’s home run and RBI records.
