Ivan Melendez produced one of the greatest offensive seasons in the history of Texas Longhorns baseball, batting .421 with 32 home runs and 94 RBIs. Melendez led all of Division I baseball in RBIs, slugging percentage, home runs, and total bases. He also ranked in the top five nationally in RBI and on-base percentage. Melendez finished Big 12 play ranked first in home runs, RBIs, and OPS, also finishing top five in average, runs, hits, and walks. Additionally, Melendez played stellar defense at first base with a .997 fielding percentage and leading the Big 12 with 591 chances and 558 putouts.
