Cal Poly redshirt sophomore right-hander Drew Thorpe has shattered the school record for double-digit strikeouts in a game this season. He has eight such performances in 13 starts this year and 12 for his Cal Poly career. Thorpe tied a school Division I record with 15 strikeouts versus UC San Diego in late March. As of May 18, he was second in the nation with 127 strikeouts and is 13 shy of the school's all-time record with two starts remaining. Thorpe's last 12 starts this season (through May 13) all were quality starts (three runs or less in six innings) and he carried an 8-1 win-loss record and 2.38 ERA into his final two starts of the 2022 season.
