Daniel Susac is one of the most prolific hitters in America while playing a premium defensive position. He is the latest in a long line of standout Arizona Wildcat catchers, and has rewritten large portions of the program’s record books in just two years in Tucson. In 56 regular season games this year, he hit .363 while leading the Pac-12 and ranking eighth nationally with 87 hits. Susac ranked among the top 10 players in the conference this year in hits, doubles, RBI, batting average, total bases and extra-base hits. He has nearly matched or surpassed every offensive mark he set during his remarkable freshman campaign in 2021 that earned him National Co-Freshman of the Year honors. Already this year Susac was selected as a unanimous Preseason All-American, earned Pac-12 and National Player of the Week honors and picked up a spot on the Dick Howser Trophy semifinalist list.
