Cooper Hjerpe

Cooper Hjerpe is enjoying one of the most dominant seasons in Oregon State baseball history. Deemed one of the top pitchers in the country, Hjerpe, a National Pitcher of the Year candidate, has finished with seven or more strikeouts in all but one of his starts. He is second nationally in strikeouts and among the nation’s leaders in wins. His numbers are so dazzling in Pac-12 play, if you took away his non-conference statistics, his remaining stats would still rank in the top three in most conference overall categories. The Capay, California, native is a two-time Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week and was also honored as a National Player of the Week in April. Hjerpe is destined to finish the 2022 season as one of the best ever by an Oregon State pitcher, and that’s why he deserves the vote for the Golden Spikes Award.
