Carlos Contreras

Carlos Contreras is the second straight Bearkat to be named a Golden Spikes semifinalist and has pushed his way onto the list in resounding fashion, leading the nation in RBI (89) and ranking among the leaders in hits (90), batting average (.415) and triples (6). He has posted five games with 6+ RBI, including a program record 9 RBI in a 5-for-5 game against rival Stephen F. Austin. He has a pair of weekend series with 15 RBI, helping him be named the WAC Hitter of the Week four times this year. Contreras has posted 21 multi-RBI games and 26 multi-hit games with 61 of his 89 RBI coming in WAC play where he has helped the Kats position themselves for a division title in their first year in the league.
