Notre Dame senior first baseman Niko Kavadas is enjoying one of the best seasons by an Irish player in program history. Heading into the Super Regional weekend, he leads the NCAA in home runs per game (0.48) and is third in the nation in home runs (21) and RBI per game (1.41). He hit five home runs in three games while batting .600 with nine runs and 13 RBI during the South Bend Regional and was named the Most Outstanding Player of the Regional. His 21 home runs set a program record for most in a single season and his current slugging percentage of .785 holds the top spot in the Irish record books for a single season.
