Doug Nikhazy became just the fourth two-time All-American in Ole Miss baseball history, earning first team honors this year while putting together a season that will live forever in Rebel lore. In his latest outing, Nikhazy tied the Ole Miss single-game record with 16 strikeouts and surpassed 2010 Golden Spikes finalist Drew Pomeranz, moving to fourth on the single-season strikeout chart with 130 on the year. Nikhazy’s stellar 2021 campaign was highlighted by a one-hit, complete-game shutout in front of the largest on-campus crowd in college baseball this season to secure a road win at in-state rival Mississippi State. When Doug Day rolls around, a Rebel win is all but guaranteed—Ole Miss is 12-2 this season when Nikhazy starts, including wins in each of his last six outings.
