A constant in the Mississippi State leadoff spot during his four seasons at Mississippi State, Jake Mangum is enjoying his finest season to date in the maroon and white. The switch-hitting leadoff hitter enters the final weekend of the regular season ranked among the top 25 nationally in five categories; batting average (.401), hits (93), doubles (20), runs (21) and fewest strikeouts (5th). His 93 hits helped him eclipse the Mississippi State and Southeastern Conference all-time records, while pushing his career total to 368, which is tied for No. 7 on the NCAA's all-time list. The three-time All-American is nearing his career-high mark of 101 hits, set in 2018, and he is poised to become the first Diamond Dawg in program history with multiple 100-hit seasons.
