Adley Rutschman set the College World Series record with 17 hits as the Beavers won the national championship in 2018. And to think, he was just getting started. Rutschman used his MVP honor in Omaha as a springboard for the 2019 season, in which he has established himself as arguably the top player in the country and came to be regarded as one of the top MLB First-Year Player Draft choices come early June. He was a consistent threat for the Beavers from both sides of the plate, ranking in the top 10 in just about every major offensive category in the Pac-12 and key categories nationally. Fans and opponents have raved about his offensive capabilities, but he also garnered national recognition for his skills behind the plate, where he helped manage one of the top pitching staffs in the country.
