JP Sears was selected the Southern Conference Pitcher of the Year after leading the nation in strikeouts through the regular season with 138. After his start in the SoCon Championship, Sears still leads Division I in strikeouts with 142. He struck out at least 10 batters on seven different occasions, highlighted by a 20-strikeout performance in a two-hit shutout over VMI on March 24. Sears is also third in Division I with 13.41 strikeouts per nine innings and allowed just 27 walks in 95 innings pitched. He finished the regular season with a 2.03 earned run average and held opponents to a .198 batting average.
