As of May 23, Freeland is second in the national rankings with 128 strikeouts in just 94 2/3 innings and has walked just nine batters so far this season. His 10-1 record is the best in the MVC and is tied for the fourth most wins in the nation. He also ranks third in the conference with a 1.90 ERA and has twice tallied a career-high 15 strikeouts in 2014.
