D.J. Peterson was named Mountain West Co-Player of the Year for the second straight season, as he again won the league's overall Triple Crown. Against UC Riverside in March, he recorded a hit in seven straight at-bats (four home runs, three singles) before being walked five times in a row, reaching base safely in 12 straight plate appearances. Against UNLV, he set a career high with eight RBIs as he went 3-for-5 with three runs scored and two home runs. Peterson is second all time at UNM in doubles (76), third in total bases (477), fourth in home runs (40) and slugging percentage (.689) and fifth in RBIs (194).
