Kevin Gausman finished the 2012 regular season with the third most strikeouts in the nation (101) and the most strikeouts in the SEC. He led the SEC in innings pitched (82 2/3) and finished second in the league in wins (7). He was named SEC Pitcher of the Week twice this year, the first time coming against Vanderbilt in a complete game five-hitter. He won Pitcher of the Week a second time after striking out 11 and working eight scoreless innings in a win over Michigan. Gausman set a new career high with 12 strikeouts in a victory over Arkansas.
