Carlos Rodón broke onto the college baseball scene in 2012 by leading the ACC in ERA at 1.59 and finishing fifth in the nation with 114 strikeouts. He was one of five pitchers in the NCAA to go undefeated, racking up at least nine wins. Rodon captured both the ACC Pitcher of the Year and ACC Freshman of the Year awards to become the first freshman in conference history to be named either the top pitcher (awarded since 2005) or top player (awarded since 1969).
