Matt Barnes was named the 2011 Big East Pitcher of the Year while also being named to the Big East honor roll five times. Barnes is the third Husky in program history to record 10 or more wins in a single season. He has 24 victories, which ranks second place among all-time Huskies in wins in a career and two shy of the program-best 26 (Tom Germano). The 2011 Big East Pitcher of the Year finished the regular season 11-3 with a 1.11 ERA and 97 strikeouts.
