Junior Hunter Morris earned SEC Player of the Year honors, making him only the second player in history to be named both the SEC Freshman and Player of the Year in his career. At the end of the regular season he led the conference in slugging percentage (.767), hits (94), home runs (20) and total bases (181), was second in runs scored (60), third in RBIs (67) and fifth in batting average (.398). Morris played for the undefeated 2008 U.S. Collegiate National Team, and he is one of the top draft-eligible first basemen heading into the 2010 MLB First-Year Player Draft.
