The 2008 SEC Freshman of the Year, and the only freshman named as a semifinalist for the Golden Spikes Award, Kentrail Davis was one of the first players to accept an invitation to the 2008 U.S. National Team Trials. His first year in Knoxville has been one for the record books. He led the team with a .330 average, 13 home runs, 44 runs batted in, a .435 on-base percentage, 68 hits and 120 total bases. His four multi-HR games tied a school, single-season record. Also, with his 12th homer of the year, he passed Rockies slugger Todd Helton on the Vols' all-time freshman home run list.
